Our Mission

Equinox offers elegant and cutting edge catering. All menus are customized for your event providing a uniquely personal touch, using seasonal and regionally sourced ingredients. In addition to our range of menu options, we also offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free catering. Our priority is to listen to your needs, delight your clients, and attend to every detail that goes into making the catering and planning of your event as seamless and effortless as possible.

Being DC natives and owners of the award-winning restaurant Equinox for eighteen years Equinox, Husband & wife team Chef Todd Gray and Ellen Kassoff have always had their fingers on the pulse of the DC culinary scene. With a Mid-Atlantic regionally-inspired palate, Chef Gray, offers sophisticated, pure American cuisine well established in European technique. Chef Gray stays true to his mission of using community-sourced, organic ingredients grown within 100 miles whenever possible.

Our Style

Chef Todd Gray’s catering is distinct from other caterers in that Equinox is a restaurant that caters which means we bring the restaurant experience to you.

Our catering kitchen is based in our restaurant - a block from the White House, which serves innovative, contemporary American food based on seasonal ingredients. Our menus are prepared by our restaurant staff and under the constant supervision of Chef Gray and his talented team. Few chefs are as conscientious in searching out the local best as Todd Gray. Gray's menus read like a directory of the finest the area has to offer.

Recent triumphs include: a Piedmontese-style ravioli of local pumpkin with brown butter, fresh sage, and amaretti; a crisp-skinned cod filet with potatoes, mushrooms, and minced truffle; House-made spaghetti with Riesling butter broccoli rabe & Chincoteague clams.

Our food reflects an imagination grounded in classical training along with local ingredients and stylish arrangements. Our catering is distinctive, elegant and wholesome.

Todd & Ellen will collaborate with you from inception to conclusion on your event as a personal chef, event planner & colleague, we can assist with every detail from menus to flowers.
